I am not okay with this coercion thing. It’s not real. He’s using it to keep Arthur safe, yes, but he’s also using it to put them in more danger. He’s also using it to get apologies out of Arthur, which isn’t that bad, I guess, but it’s leaving a bad taste in my mouth. This isn’t necessary. Shouldn’t he have lifted the spell when they got out into the woods, given Arthur some bullshit line about being knocked out and they had to take him to safety or something? Arthur always believes whatever crap Merlin tells him. Why would this have been any different? Arthur wouldn’t abandon his people if he had any other choice; however, even he has to understand that he’s so much more use to his people alive than dead.
